(More customer reviews)Um, i'm all for products that use "natural" ingredients and wanted so much for this product to work, but for my cat, it does nothing. The product apparently is based on vegetable oil with clove oil and some other oil (I don't have the product in front of me). It didn't seem to have much of a smell at all. I sprayed the couch every day for 4 days as directed and during that time I suspected my cat was still scratching the couch. So I put some of the spray on my hand and had her sniff it and SHE LICKED IT! More than once! I don't expect a spray to be the only solution to prevent a cat from scratching (provide scratching posts, scare her away from the furniture, reward good behavior, etc), but I have to think this product is useless if my cat thinks its tasty. I don't know, maybe she has peculiar tastes. The 2nd star is to acknowledge that possibility.

(More customer reviews)I could have found a cone on the side of the road and stapled a remnant to it for less than 5 bucks. I paid $17 for this thing, and it is light as a feather. I am planning on rigging it with something heavy to keep it from knocking over, but still, think twice. I got this with a gift certificate, and if it were my money, I'd want a refund. It snagged already when I was moving it around... note this was before I even introduced it to the kitty. This thing shouldn't last too long.

Chooch isn't much of a scratcher -- she does like the side of my bed and the antique chenille sofa in my living room -- but she's a stretch scratcher, and this scratching pad is right up her ally. She wouldn't touch it when it was hanging from a doorknob, but she's very happy with it on the floor. After she scratches on it, she loves to sit on it as if to keep anybody else in the house from claiming it.
