(More customer reviews)I was a little apprehensive when I first decided to purchase a robotic vac, since I had never used anything like it before. I came up with a thousand reasons in my mind why it might be money down the toilet. However, I am happy to say that essentially the vacuum performs as well as could be expected.
WORD OF CAUTION: This vac DOES NOT perform well on sculpted carpet-even if it has a short nap! I could see how it would have difficulties on carpet that has any real height to the nap at all. For somebody with wood or tile floors this thing is a dream!
Pros:
*Reusable, washable filters (3).
*Easy to operate.
*Wide variety of cleaning modes that work well.
*UV light option for disinfecting (although I wonder how well that really works).
*Compartment for adding scent packet (manual states that dryer sheet can be used as well).
*Remote.
*Easy clean removable brush and removable wheel compartments to clean out stuff that inevitably will collect there.
*Picks up pet hair and dust GREAT!
*Beeps to let you know that it is stuck or the battery has gotten low and automatically shuts down.
*Price
Cons:
*Only runs for about 80 minutes at a time on a full charge- takes about 2 1/2 hours to charge back up.
*Just doesn't work as well on carpets as wood or tile.(Gets stuck a lot easier around furniture on the carpet)Overall a great robot vac for the money. I find it rivals some of the more expensive brands features, without the jump in price. Bought this one to see how robotic vacs will really get the job done. Will probably bump up to model with longer battery life and charging dock, that can be programmed to vacuum on a schedule. I guess the next purchase will be the robotic lawn mower for the yard...

(More customer reviews)I got these stripes today and checked them out immediately. I had hoped for a heavier, more flexible material with a rubber sole beneath, which would adjust itself through it's own weight and the rubber adherence on the floor: that would have been a simple, effective and really mobile solution.
But ufortunately they are quite lightweight with just adhesive strips beneath, which didn't even last a minute on my hard floor:
At the first contact with my roomba they loosened and at the second contact they lost their grip totally, so that the roomba at one time pushed them aside and run directly into the "protected" area (whereas one stripe clung to the roomba) and the other time it simply drove over them i a quite fast pace.
So, without attaching the stripes they don't work and the adhesive strips don't last more than a minute. That is really a pitty. On the other hand the customer service is extremely good and friendly and the keep- off mat works just fine. Therefore 3 stars ....

(More customer reviews)My husband and I had high hopes when he ordered this robotic vacuum cleaner for me for Christmas. My husband is confined to a wheelchair much of the time, and I have severe degenerative disk disease and spondelosis, which in laymen's terms means an extremely bad, severely painful, neck and back. This problem keeps me from being able to clean my house the way it needs, which is very hard on a frustrated Neat Freak like me. Also, we have a loving dog who lives in the house with us, and she sheds, AND sheds. To make matters worse, both my hubby and I have miserably debillitating allergies. So a good and easy way to clean the floors is a Must-Have for us.

We thought a cleaner that did all the work for us would be the next-best-thing to the maid service we can't afford. But, sadly, this little vacuum could not handle our floors! We have cement floors, with a few very thin and flat, antique Oriental rugs scattered here and there. The robot vacuum kept getting hung up on the almost microscopic distance between the rugs and the floor. Whether it was trying to go up, ON to a rug from the cement, or go down, OFF of a rug back onto the cement, 9 times out of 10, or more, it would hang, and then stall, and then STOP. Maddening.

Yes, it is loud, but that didn't matter, it probably isn't much louder than most regular vacuum cleaners. Yes, when it wasn't hung up on something, it was very slow moving across the floor, but that was alright too -- I figure that the slower a vacuum goes across the floor, the more thoroughly it is getting it clean. And besides, who cares how long it takes, if I'm not the one having to do the work?

If only this thing could have managed to actually clean the floor more than a few tiny itty bitty INCHES at a time without getting hung up and stopping, we would have been pleased as could be, despite the noise and the slowness. But, sadly, it just couldn't do the job.
MAYBE if our floors had no rugs whatsoever, OR if it were wall to wall rug, then it MIGHT have worked good enough. But I really doubt it, because when it wasn't getting hung up on the canyon between the rugs and the hard floor, it was getting hung up on furniture legs, and walls, and doors.

Somewhere I read a review where the person said she thought this vacuum needed time to "learn" about all the obstacles in a room, before it can do a good job of cleaning it up without stalling. I was hoping that was the problem, so I kept giving it chance after chance, but this Stupid Robotic Vacuum never learned a darn thing! If anything, the more I ran it, the more quickly it would get hung up and shut itself off. We bought it from a store that has a 30-day free trial period, and we used it the full 30 days, trying to figure out a way to make it work for us, but it never did work, so in the end we sent it back.
