Perfect for what I needed. I have a family of fox, with 2-3 kits living in my backyard which has lots of rabbits and a creek running behind it. Did not know how to get rid of them. After numerous calls to various resources and suggested solutions (kill and discard the carcasses[$5000 for this one!]; trap and relocation, patience after the food source disappears, fencing that extends 3 feet underground, etc.) I decided on the Critter Gitter. The alarm is shrill and scares away the animals. It will reset itself, so no need for you to run out and turn it off. The Critter Gitter picks up movements of birds, rabbits, squirrels and my neighbor's dog who all eventually learned to ignor it. I am afraid that the fox may have learned the same lesson, but I no longer saw any in my yard. I saw them sunning in my neighbor's garden. (smile) The Critter Gitter is inexpensive, effective, animal friendly, and has multiple uses. I ordered several for various spots in my backyard. I plan to order others to use near my entrances as a deterient to burgulars.
P.S. Be sure to alert your neighbors that you have this device as the sound is loud. My neighbors thought that my home alarm was malfunctioning.

Scare away racoons, stray dogs and cats, opossums, skunks, chipmunks, deer, squirrels, gophers, moles, rabbits, voles, woodchucks, coyotes, etc.The Critter Gitter uses a passive infrared sensor to detect the body heat of animals within a 40 ft. range. This battery-powered device then produces startling high-pitched sounds (note: sounds are audible to humans) coupled with flashing lights to scare animals away. The sound pattern changes randomly so animals do not get used to it. You can also use the Critter Gitter to train pets to keep away from certain areas. Features include high/low volume settings. You'll enjoy wireless operation for up to a year with a single 9-volt alkaline battery (included).
