LA Rug Sports America Rug 51"x78" Review

(More customer reviews)We just replaced wall to wall carpet in our boys room with some hardwood and needed a carpet so our boys could lie on the ground a bit for reading etc. They love sports so the balls etc are perfect but the carpet certainly has a "plastic" texture. Not a real attractive surface for lying down with a book.

(More customer reviews)We like the look of this rug, but it is not soft/plush by any means. The bottom of it is nonslip, but reminds me more of a cheap bathroom rug. For the money, I was expecting better quality, but it will do for a toddler room for now.

Ride the Train Learn and Play Rug Carpet (142) Review

(More customer reviews)I saw how excited my 3 year old son got over one of these rugs at a gym daycare facility. We already have the Thomas the Tank table, with a mess of tracks and parts all over, and the Step 2 Canyon Roadway. This carpet is the BEST. My son loves it more than any of the other tracks he has, and it is so easy to deal with. I used to put together Thomas tracks for my son, but chasing a younger 18 month old tot around, I can't keep up any more, so the train table is a mess. The Step 2 Canyon is nice, but it's now our coffee table and we have no where else to put it (was intended for outside but stickers prevent that). The Ride the Train Carpet covers both Matchbox sized cars (in 2-lane traffic) and railway lines too. If want, can roll up small and put in closet. Wish it came with a nylon draw-string bag to put away easily, but don't think we'll be putting up anytime soon. Don't know about durability yet, as haven't had long enough, but lays nice and flat on top of berber carpet.

(More customer reviews)We are very pleased with the quality, size, and design of this rug which is used in our children's block and car play area.
The design on the rug is not as crowded as some. This open design allows space between the roads where the kids can build buildings with the blocks, yet there are also enough roads for "driving." Great for open ended play.
The rug is not plush or thick, but this is a bonus because it allows the blocks to stand and stack easily. Yet is comfortable over our hardwood floor and dampens the noise of blocks tumbling over. Appears durable so far.
This is proving to be the perfect rug for this play area.

City Rug Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this rug, based on the only review, for my son's 4th birthday. The biggest draw for me was the "weight" of the rug, and that the other reviewer said it was "heavier" than others. The dimensions of the rug are not specified, so I assumed... by price... that this rug would be big (at least by another foot).
The rug arrived today and I am so disappointed! While it is still a decent play rug, it is much thinner and smaller than I expected (approx 3' x 6'). There is no way this rug weighs 5 lbs. For 20$ less I could have bought the exact same rug [...] and not paid [...]$ for shipping.
I contacted the seller listed on the shipping label and received someone with a thick accent who could not communicate with me. I verified the number and name of the company, and then asked to speak with someone else. I was told there was no one else (at least I think that's what he said ;o).
So. If you are looking for a thick, durable car rug, I don't think this is the one for you.

The only thing I didn't like was that the backing seems a little hard and left little pieces and "dust" on the floor when I unrolled it.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this rug to use in my daughter's play room. The wood floors are too cold during the winter and we chose this rug because it encourages pretend play. She loves to drive her cars and trains on the rug. The snap is short and stiff to allow the cars to ride smoothly across the surface but it still provides more warmth than the hard wood floors do. We are pleased with this rug and our daughter is, too.

(More customer reviews)We bought this rug for our 17-month old daughter, who is the recipient of many of the toys we wish *we* had. Right now, she's more enamored of having her own play space than she is interested in the neighborhood aspect. But, the rug is quite fun, with houses, a duck pond, zoo, park, school, etc.--all in slightly "off" perspective. The lanes on the streets are the perfect size for matchbox-sized cars, for when your little one is older, but toddler-sized cars work just as well.
All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. It seems a durable, colorful rug. It's long, providing lots of play space. Its no-slip backing should provide safety on tile or wood floors (though we have it on the carpeted floor of our living room). The best aspect? Our daughter keeps her blocks and cars on the rug--instead of everywhere else underfoot.
