The price from the Home Decorators collection was cheaper than the sale price of the store, therefore I decided to purchase from them. It arrived promptly in the right size and works wonderful - the carpet does not move or slide even with several little kids running over it. I am now thinking of upgrading my other carpet pads to Tiger Grip pads. Make sure to purchase the right size for your carpet, the pad is so thick that it would be difficult to cut to size at home.

(More customer reviews)This product is intended for throw rugs and accent rugs that are placed on top of carpeting. It is supposed to keep the throw rugs and accent rugs from slipping on the carpet. In our house, the rugs slip badly after only a few times of walking over them, with constant bending down to reposition them.
This nonslip rug pad sticks aggressively to the carpet, yet pulls up easily for repositioning.
However, the throw rugs and accent rugs slip on the "nonslip" pad. I ended up using double-sided carpet tape on the underside of the rugs, and that did the trick - no more slippage of the rugs on the carpeting.
This is the only product out there that I could find to keep throw rugs and accent rugs from slipping on carpeting.

The runner & placemats used to slide across the table with our cats on top. Problem solved with the mats underneath. Tried to use some under throw rugs we have on our berber carpet, but it didn't really help there.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this rug pad to place under a Pottery Barn rug that I have in my living room. The rug would shift and wrinkle (sometimes after only an hour) because the carpet underneath did not hold the rug in place. The problem was so bad (even with furniture on the rug) that the rug was developing creases that I could not flatten out by repositioning the rug.
This rug pad worked wonders. A week later, the rug hasn't moved an inch. We walk on the rug every day and no longer have to worry about tripping on the creases. When I put the rug down on the pad, I was even able to smooth out the creases from the last few months because the pad grips the rug so well.
Other information that may be useful to buyers: the pad did not arrive with any chemical smell (important to me as the mother of a 2-month old baby) and only required a small trim (about 2 inches off two sides). This rug pad is an excellent product that I would highly recommend. I never would have expected to feel so pasionate about a rug pad, but yet, I am!

Durable, Reversible 10' X 14' Premium Movenot Rug Pad(TM) for Hard Surfaces and Carpet Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered this pad through Amazon seller "Factory Direct Rug Pads" and am pleased with the purchase. When shopping at Macy's they wanted almost double the price for the same pad.
Here's how I set the pad up. First, before opening the package, take some damp paper towels and clean the heavy plastic wrapping in which the pad shipped, because it will be filthy from the long trip to your house, and you don't want dirt on your new rug or elsewhere.
Then, unwrap and unroll the pad completely, rubber side up, and leave it on the floor for 2-3 days. This will allow the pad to flatten completely. I was amazed how the fibers relaxed over time, and the pad became perfectly flat.
Then, using a scissors, trim the pad so it's about 1 inch smaller than the edge of the rug. If your rug is exactly 10 feet wide, trim the pad so it's 9 feet 10 inches wide. Take your time, measure several times, so you don't make a mistake. My rug has a decorative border line, so I actually laid the pad on top, and used the border line as a guide, and also marked the pad lightly with a pen and cut on the line. Again, re-check and re-measure as you are cutting, so you don't make a mistake.
After the pad was cut, I rolled up the rug, and then laid out the pad, rubber side down, and measured against the sides of the room so the pad was centered in the room. Then, the rug was unrolled onto the pad. It took a few minutes to center the rug on the pad, because the rug sticks to the fibers on the pad. A second person helping would have been nice. But working alone, I managed to shake the rug to create air underneath, allowing it to be shifted and centered onto the pad.
When done, I measured in several places around all 4 sides until there was 1 inch distance between the edge of the pad, and the edge of the rug. This whole process took about 30 minutes for a 10 x 14 rug.
The pad quality is good, much better than the cheap foam-covered fabric type pads, which can discolor the floor over time.
