The backing is strong and the pile so thick that they practically spring into a flat position right out of the rolled package that they were shipped. I am a fan of oriental area rugs and change them out occasionally to vary the look of the room. Some rugs I have purchased are thin and not durable for floor use. They are more like thick cloth and I use them on top of end tables or the coffee table for a rich Bedouin appearance. This is my first experience with this product and it's seller. I was pleasantly surprised with the detail and care the owner instructed me to use and care for his product. Very consciencious seller. I wish all retail experiences were this charming. I think these rugs will outlast me.
