Panasonic MC-CG467 Multi-Surface Lightweight Canister Vacuum Cleaner, Light Blue Review

After replacing carpeting with wood flooring, I was on the lookout for a good, light weight canister. My upright did not work on the wood floors and the hose attachment created back-breaking work. Sweeping & swiffering still left dust behind. After many months of searching I found this Panasonic. My upright Panasonic has been a rugged, dependable machine, so I knew the brand would be a sound buy. This vacuum is just perfect for wood/laminate/tile floors. In addition it does great on area rugs (low pile) and it's a dream on stairs (carpeted). Light weight, easy to manuever, with very good suction. Powerhead adjusts to wood/carpet and the rotating brush makes sure all dirt disappears. Very pleased with this vacuum.

Equipped with a powerful 11 amp motor, this canister vacuum cleaner features a three-in-one multi-surface brush for cleaning all floor surfaces. Move from wood floors, to short-pile carpet, to long-pile carpet without ever reaching for a different nozzle. The unit's 360-degree swivel hose permits a wide range of cleaning, while its recessed attachment storage on top of the canister keeps the on-board crevice tool and dusting brush within reach for fast, easy access. Other highlights include a telescopic wand, a full furniture guard, edge cleaning, and a 12-inch nozzle, plus a three-stage HEPA filtration system and a high-efficiency dust bag that collects and protects leakage of dust. In addition, the unit provides motor protection, three-position height adjustment, soft wheels that protect wooden floors, two carry handles for simple mobility, and a 17-foot cord with automatic cord rewind. The lightweight and compact vacuum cleaner measures 18-2/7 by 13-4/5 by 12-4/5 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Panasonic MC-V5210 Commercial Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Tools On-Board, Black Review

This is a no nonsense commercial vacuum cleaner that does a good job of pulling dirt out of carpets. Our professional cleaners used a Panasonic commercial vacuum and we noticed the carpets were a lot cleaner after they had vacuumed compared to when we did. Whether a typical home owner will be happy with a commercial vacuum depends on what features you are comfortable with.
Pros: Strong suction and brush action really digs dirt out of carpets.
Nice balance of power, size, and weight. Compact and easy to use.
At 15 pounds (w/o cord), it maneuvers easily and is not too bad to carry.
50' commercial cord allows you to plug it in once to clean several rooms or a large area.
Unlike some uprights, the fan pulls air through the filter bag and through a HEPA filter before it reaches the motor.
The on board tools are convenient and work well.
The machine is designed for frequent use and easy low cost maintenance.
At around $210, it offers good value compared to other trendy vacuums.
Cons: The cord is orange and rather substantial. If you are not comfortable winding a 50' extension cord using your arm or hands, putting this away will be a hassle. The agitator always spins when the machine is on, even when upright and using the onboard tools (the brush is raised off the floor when upright to prevent carpet wear). There is no light.
I really like the simple reliability of the design and having noticeably cleaner carpets. The construction is largely plastic for reduced weight, but with metal in the right places. The overall aesthetic is a proven low cost design.
Update: Having used this for a while, I'm even more impressed by its convenience. The size and weight make it easy to carry around or put a hand under the base to use on stairs or upholstery. To clean stairs for example, start at the bottom, face the vacuum toward you, and rest the base one step below the one you are cleaning. Use the crevice tool to clean around the edge of each step. On the way down, turn the vacuum around, put one hand under the base and the other on the neck, use the brush to clean the surface of each step. This is much easier than balancing a canister or having to move to a different outlet 3/4 of the way up. The whole machine is a moderate weight canister with a built-in brush. The only real con is the noise on bare floors since you can't turn the brush off. Most vacuums I've used border on loud with the power brush on, and this one is similar. A little quieter on carpets, but louder on bare floors.

Panasonic MC-CG902 Canister Vacuum Cleaner, Burgundy finish Review

This Vac is the exact twin to my old Kenmore that just died, right down to the color, all the same markings and bells and whistles of the one I paid over $250.00 for 10 years ago, so when I saw it, and it was fairly cheap, I bought it! Well....there is one major difference...even though it is the same hp as my old one, it only has half the sucking power. I have dogs and birds and I need the flexibility of a canister and the old one just about took the carpet with it right up to it's dying day, THIS one, BRAND NEW, has about half the suction as the old one. It still picks up, don't get me wrong, but if you want a lot of power, this is not the vac for you. Otherwise, it is a great buy, the ease of use is good, the flexibility is good, if you have no dogs or cats, this would be a good buy for you. I wish I hadn't bought it though.
