(More customer reviews)Recently purchased this item latter part of Dec 2007. It's going back as soon as a return authorization is obtained. This unit is big and bulky and does NOT lend itself well to being a very useful "handheld", everyday tool, and I found it's accessories uncomfortable to use. Also, I felt it was slow getting "up to steam" and it felt "heavy" with a full load of water. Additionally, it seemed to not want to work properly when the unit wasn't particularily level. Steam cleaning, in principle, is a great idea, but it seems this product's adaptation and implementation of the principle is not good. Save your money or look elsewhere if you must have a handheld steam cleaning unit; this unit was too expensive and did not work well in this user's opinion.

(More customer reviews)I have been trying to find out if this product can be safely used on hardwood floors. Bissell used to make two different products - one for hard floors (ceramic, etc.) and one for wood floors, but they have discontinued the wood floor cleaner. I really liked the wood floor cleaner and thought that was what I was ordering at Amazon, however, it wasn't, instead I was sent the hard floor cleaner, which states on the bottle it is NOT for hardwood floors!. The hard floor cleaner works, but will it damage my floor? I really would like some clarification. I called their help line and was routed to someone in India (Pakistan?) who read to me the same information I already had from their internet site.

(More customer reviews)This device works fine for crumbs and little dry messes on carpet if you don't want to haul out the vacuum cleaner. However I was hoping it would also pick up stuff on hard floors, but it doesn't do very well there. It'll pick up if you move it pretty fast back and forth over the area, but to do the entire floor would cause you to work up quite a lather.
I was really looking for something a little more environmentally friendly than the portable, cordless vacuums which you have to throw away after a year because the battery's shot. But this wasn't it, not for me anyway.

You can push and pull till your blue in the face and your arm hurts on low pile rugs... and on bare floors all it does is push what your trying to pick up ahead of it....
Also the handle tends to pull apart ... directions say to tap it against the floor to tighten the sections together. I tapped them together with a hammer..seems to be holding for now.
Only good thing is you don't have to empty the sweeper too often because it doesn't pick up very well....

(More customer reviews)I hate vacuuming! It hurts my back and it's just an unfortunate necessary hassle. But with a house full of messy, fuzzy and feathered pets it's a very regular must! I was planning to get one of those roombas hoping to save me on the frequency of the chore but hearing reports that they break down didn't seem to make my problems any easier. My husband saw a swivel sweeper on TV but I feared it might be another "made in china" electronic susceptible to breakdowns. Remembering those little carpet sweepers from school days I thought this might be a good idea to keep up with the animals. It's a simple minute to assemble, and a few sweeps over floor or carpet and you can see the floor...no crumbs, no fluff, just carpeting. I was really surprised when I went to empty out the canister, another simple task, to find that there was more pet hair, feathers and other crumbs, kibbles and dust than I could see on the carpet! I can't even imagine how this could break which also gives a some piece of mind to know it's there when you need it. The bottom line: it's fast, effective, lightweight, easy to maintain and easy to store. No it won't replace your vacuum or get deep into the corners but it's a real help in keeping things neat, and a welcomed time saver. It has paid for itself in saving vacuum cleaner bags and electricity in no time, but I am especially glad for it having spared my back. A great gadget for households with pets and toddlers, and one I would highly recommend.

(More customer reviews)As a high-rise condo building manager, I need a good carpet sweeper to clean the carpet hallways in-between weekly vacuuming. Other carpet sweepers I've used took several strokes and still missed lots of bits and pieces, causing me to either go over it again and again like a crazy person or to bend over repeatedly to hand-pick up the small bits of trash. I even tried electric carpet sweepers but they still miss a lot and die after only a few floors. So frustrating!
The Rotaro is the best carpet sweeper I've ever used. It weighs a little more than the rest but it picks up everything the first time and makes my job a thousand times easier! I love it!
