(More customer reviews)Forget the negative reviews if you have hardwood floors...this thing works great! My entire house is hardwood floors and I've tried several upright vacuums, and they ALL shoot stuff out of the back. The Shark never shoots anything out...and 99.9% of the time it picks everything up: from rice, coffee, dust-bunnies, crumbs, coins, potato chips...anything that other expensive vacuums I've tried can't. It's convenient to use, lightweight, it stays charged (which btw, when calibrating the battery, they suggest you charge/drain the battery twice. I've drained it once so far, and it ran for over 45 minutes). The swivel handle is great, and maneuvers like a steering wheel.
I even use this thing on the back porch to pick up leaves, berries, and stuff I don't feel like getting out the broom & dustpan for.
I don't think this machine is designed for heavy duty work, or not sure how it would perform on deep-pile carpet, but for my hardwood situation it's perfect!
Also, the little wheel for baseboards really works! It throws stuff right in front of the beeterbar to be consumed.

Only thing that is a little weird is the handle assembly relies on pressure to hold the four sections together. Has fallen apart one time but forced it back together with hammer on one end. Has not fallen apart since then!

(More customer reviews)I ordered my filters and they were shipped from Promax. After doing more research in my area I found the filters about half the price at my local Target store. I posted a review on Amazon stating that I was upset that I had paid more from Amazon/Promax and that even tho I would continue to buy from Amazon, I would not order from Promax again. I received my order and posted my review. I then received 3 phone calls and two e-mails from Promax wanting to know what they could do to resolve my opinion -- David actually told me they "lived and died" by their reviews and asked me to please take down my negative review and they would do whatever they could to make me happy. I was out of town, however, I took my review down on 4/24 and called the company back today, 4/27, to tell them I had taken the review down. Promax rep David, on speaker phone, ask me what price I had bought the same item from from Target, would he be able to go online and verify the price, that he would not refund my shipping, he actually said I knew how much I was paying for the item when I hit "send" on my order, and there was no way they would refund my shipping--I should know that I had to pay shipping when I buy something. Needless to say, I am now extremely unhappy with this whole Promax experience. When they wanted me to take down my review they were absolutely wonderful; after I took down my review I was the idiot. I told them not to worry about any type of refund, to expect my negative review back online.
I would hope anyone out there would run as fast as they could from this company. In this day and age customer service is a must for any business. This company is AWFUL. As I stated before -- I will continue to buy from Amazon, but if what I need is only available from Promax--I will do without.

Now, many of the places on Amazon are selling only the box of 12 (not several packages) for prices $40 and up to $80. For 12 items, this is a big ripoff. I think many people are ordering them thinking they're getting several boxes. Let the buyer beware.

(More customer reviews)The Oreck Restaurateur sweeper is almost perfect. It works great and I have had it for a little longer then 1 year, I think. It uses rubber rollers, instead of roller brushes, which picks up dirt much better, and unlike other sweepers who's pole sometimes falls apart on you because they rely on pressure to hold the different parts of the rod together ,instead of screwing them together, like the Oreck does. My only beef is, the pole is beginning to bend a little bit, I do push down hard on it to pick up cat hair, etc. It says its under warranty for 10 years, but I'll never find my receipt, I call Oreck and find out what happens and let you know.

I just bought this at a local hardware store, mine is blue, not expecting anything fabulous, but lo-and-behold, I was amazed at how much pet hair, crumbs, even a small pile of fine dirt, that it picked-up. No, this is not a vaccum, nor did I expect it to be, but for quick in-between vaccuming jobs, this works quite well for me. I also love the fact that there is no electricity or batteries required. We have a dog and a cat that both shed a lot, and this is a big help to keep the hair under control.

(More customer reviews)It's easy to push, easy to empty, and cleans the bare floors well. On the carpet, which is pretty flat, I'm having an issue with the rubber pieces at the corners popping off. I'm not sure why. I bought it because it's the sweeper the custodians use at my school, and they're very happy with it. I like that it's a manual sweeper because I got tired of charging the cordless one I had, and I also got tired of replacing the expensive battery that refused to charge after a few years. Truthfully though, the cordless was more effective and practically pushed itself.

(More customer reviews)This device works fine for crumbs and little dry messes on carpet if you don't want to haul out the vacuum cleaner. However I was hoping it would also pick up stuff on hard floors, but it doesn't do very well there. It'll pick up if you move it pretty fast back and forth over the area, but to do the entire floor would cause you to work up quite a lather.
I was really looking for something a little more environmentally friendly than the portable, cordless vacuums which you have to throw away after a year because the battery's shot. But this wasn't it, not for me anyway.

You can push and pull till your blue in the face and your arm hurts on low pile rugs... and on bare floors all it does is push what your trying to pick up ahead of it....
Also the handle tends to pull apart ... directions say to tap it against the floor to tighten the sections together. I tapped them together with a hammer..seems to be holding for now.
Only good thing is you don't have to empty the sweeper too often because it doesn't pick up very well....

(More customer reviews)This particular item has been a life saver for me. I have two pets that have messy shredded aspen bedding and pet hair that gets outside of the cage a lot. It tends to clog vacuums. This product picks it up well with no clogging. It picks up other small messes also. It takes a little effort though, sweeping back and forth. Still think its worth not ruining the vacuum.

Hoky PowerRotor PR3000 Sweeper Review

(More customer reviews)I use my heavy Hoover self-propelled vacuum once or twice a week. It does a superb job deep-cleaning and lifting the fibres of my carpets. At all other times between vacuuming I use the Hoky (what a misnomer!!!) for cleanups.
Over the years, I have tried many other types of "mini-cleaners" including several rechargeable and 120 volt. These include stick cleaners and hand-held cleaners, several with power nozzles.
Cleanup varies from poor to adequate with all of these. AND the rechargeable batteries never seem to last very long until they will not hold a decent charge - then the batteries cost as much as the whole cleaner to replace. Also 120v cleaners require a convenient outlet and their power cords to be released then rewound after use. The ones with small dirt containers need to be emptied and their small filters usually need to be brushed off and washed after each use if their (often feeble) suction is to remain effective.
The Hoky is always ready to use and does a first rate job of picking up all regular debris tracked in the house - including pet hair and fur. It works equally well on wood floors, laminate floors, ceramic tiles and carpeting - picking dirt up in one pass and requiring minimal effort to push (unless carpet pile is particularly plush). It will even clean wet floors - instead of a brush, it has a "RotorBlade" (a spindle with rubber squeegees) - which works well for small liquid spills. Emptying the 2 dirt pans is very straightforward; there are no filters to clog and the rotorblade seems to clean itself of hair and fur.
One Hoky and one heavy vacuum (per floor maybe?) is all you need to keep your floors free of dirt and debris at all times with minimal effort. None of the other "mini cleaners" I have used have done a better job AND all of them are less convenient.
Just remember to park the Hoky horizontally (or empty it before parking it) to avoid dumping dirt next time you start to use it. OR wait until the next "unbeliever" needs a demonstration. Just one or two passes and it will all be picked up again.
