(More customer reviews)I use these under sets of Skandia shelving, to make sure the shelving leans TOWARD THE WALL rather than in a random direction. They've worked for this purpose for me through three different apartments. They don't crush, like a wooden shim would. I've tried wooden shims. Under 80 shelf feet of books, wooden shims crush nearly flat. These plastic shims do NOT do that.
They don't slip on carpeting due to their ridges. Because of their ridges, they lock together to form a taller shim if needed, and I do use them that way. I like 'em, and I'm really glad the manufacturer keeps making them just as they are.
