Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - 3950 Review

Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - 3950

Now to be honest, this is a girly looking vacuum. It looks kinda purplish and two toned at that, in fact, Bissell calls it a Dark Cherry Fiz color. However, my wife liked the color, so that was a selling point for her. It also weighs considerably less than the Dirt Devil did, which was also a major selling point for both my wife and myself. (Yes, I do vacuum when nagged enough!)
So I brought it home, took it out of the box, and after 3 screws and 15 minutes later, the vacuum was put together. I found the assembly very easy to do, and the instructions quite straight forward.
Observations:
Right away I turned on the vacuum and found it very easy to maneuver. The adjustments for the floor height were easy to turn and it actually quieter than my Dirt Devil. All good things to me. Of course my wife and I took off the hose and tested the suction strength on each other, like the cheek, arm, and hair. Very impressive suction strength! Then my 2 yr. old son got upset because he thought that the vacuum was hurting us, so we stopped laughing and put the vacuum hose back.
I then vacuumed up a small patch of carpet in our spare bedroom, which I only use for my office, but right away my wife yelled at me to turn it off. She pointed out the amount of dust spiralling around the canister, which looked really cool! The cyclonic feature really works! There was a good amount of dust and debris already in the canister. We were both amazed at home much this vacuum had picked up, especially when this room had been vacuumed with the Dirt Devil just last week. Also, the carpet seemed to be fluffier. The 12 amps of power and extra wide 15 inch brush are very effective at cleaning our carpets.
I was also impressed with the fact that there are 2 filters on this vacuum. One just beneath the canister and a HEPA filter on the side of the vacuum where the air is returned to the room. Also both of these filters are very easy to find, remove, and replace. The canister also is very easy to remove, clean, and replace. A simple locking arm swings to one side to release the canister, then slides back to lock it in place.
There is also an indicator which changes colors based on the quality of air flow. If it is green, then things are well and air is moving freely. If it turns red then the airflow has become reduced, and if it turns black then there is something blocking the airflow completely. It is very easy to remove the entire hose, you just simply turn the hose on the back of the vacuum until it releases the hose, then you can clear away any blockages that might be in the way.
The hose is 14 feet long. However, I have not needed to use this feature as of yet, but it is very flexible and stretches easily. The Bissell Velocity Vacuum also comes complete with the dusting brush, TurboBrush, Curved Hose Wand, Extension Wand, and Crevice Tool. The power chord is extremely long at 35 feet, but can be a hassle when you only need a small amount of it for a smaller room. However, it is great when vacuuming a large room, or multiple rooms close to each other!
The TurboBrush also works great. I used it to vacuum off the stairs and my car. Again the 12 amps of suction strength is evident when the brush gets up to full speed. It really spins fast! I can even press it fairly strong into the carpet and it still spins.
There was mention that this vacuum seemed to tip over easily, and that is true. I tested this out on both carpet and bare floor. A good nudge or bump anywhere above the Turbo brush will send it falling backwards. Locking wheels would probably have helped in keeping this from happening. If you are going to be pulling on the hose to bring the vacuum closer to you, it is best to do this if the hose is attached to the handle at the bottom of the vacuum. However, I would not recommend this type of action.
Some people had issues with the power switch being on the front of the vacuum. This is not an issue for me. It is near enough the handle that it takes nothing to reach down and flip it off.
Conclusion
There isn't much about this vacuum that I don't like. It is lightweight, powerful, and easy to use. It is a little back heavy and can tip over fairly easily, and the power chord can be a nuisance because of its length, but those are minor problems.
For the money, you really can't go wrong with this vacuum. It will leave your carpets clean, fluffed, and your air filtered. What more can you ask for?

Eureka Heavy Duty Cloth Bag Upright Commercial Vacuum - Model C2094G Review

Eureka Heavy Duty Cloth Bag Upright Commercial Vacuum - Model C2094G

Our natural carpet cleaning service recommended the Eureka C2094G Heavy Duty Cloth Bag Upright Commercial Vacuum to us. He said he even prefers it over his very spendy vacuum. We love it! The engineer in the family was won over by the amps.
The things that make this vac stand above the rest are the 7 amp motor, Micron filtration bag system traps dust particles down to one micron (Excellent HEPA rating), and super long cord at 50 feet. It's simple, powerful and doesn't cost a fortune. The only downside is that we needed to buy a separate hand held vac for cleaning our car, which actually has been so much easier than lugging a full-sized vacuum around the yard on car cleaning day. We chose the Eureka 71B Hand-Held Vacuum for the hand held needs. It's fantastici. 5.5 amp suction with stretch hose which is great for vacuuming out cars, upholstery, and stairs. It has a nice long, 20-foot cord. We haven't found anything more powerful and simple on the market and are very pleased. We recommend these vacuum's to all of our friends.

Amazon.com Review:Great for high-speed, large-area cleaning, this Eureka upright vacuum is simple, maneuverable, and strong. Though not appropriate for bare floors, the vacuum features six different carpet-nap settings, tuned with an easy-access dial that ranges from low pile to thick plush. The no-nonsense construction of the vacuum makes it easy to push and turn, while the wide bumper protects furniture and baseboards. The back-mounted cloth bag zips open completely for easy removal of the inner paper bag. The stout metal brush roll on this machine stands up to abuse and thoroughly sweeps and combs carpet for deeper cleaning. The handle--released with a foot pedal--can go flush with the floor for vacuuming under furniture. Though this model doesn't come with hoses, attachments, or extra gadgets, it's a reliable, powerful way to clean all kinds of carpet. At 20 pounds, it's not exactly a lightweight, but the spare design lets you turn it on a dime. Eureka makes this upright with a bright headlight, two cord hooks, a foot-controlled power switch, and a 50-foot power cord. It also comes with a spare paper dust bag. --Emily BedardFrom the Manufacturer: * 7 amp maintenance-free motor * 6-position carpet-height adjustment * Micron filtration bag * Headlight * Dedicated paper disposable bag system * 12-inch nozzle width * 50-foot power cord * Weighs 20 pounds * Sturdy metal brush roll * Cloth bag unzips for easy removal of inner paper bag * 6 carpet-nap settings

Royal RY7300 Protégé Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Royal RY7300 Protégé Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Initially, I was not familiar with the Royal brand of vacuum cleaners. I did a little research and found that Royal is a high-end brand name. Upon receipt of the box I opened the package to find 3 simple pieces. The main unit (motor, bag area, etc,) a hose and [finally] the handle.
The assembly took less than 5 minutes and was completed using 3 screws to secure the handle unit to the main unit.
The bottom of the motor unit is all metal and quite sturdy. The handle is metal sturdy and secure feeling as well.
Turning on the unit you immediately feel the strong suction from the rather quiet motor. Once you release the head to start vacuum you feel a firm (but controllable) movement forward as the brush goes to work vibrating and brushing the carpet.
One immediate observation from when I started vacuuming was that I was 'hearing' a LOT of dirt and 'stuff' being sucked into the bag (far more than with my aging Eureka.)
The first thing I wanted to test was the auto-matic brush adjustment. I have never really liked auto brush/height adjustment because I pretty much always like mine set on low. The auto adjustment on the Dyson is what made be return it (promptly) because it was horrible. However, in the case of the Royal Protege' 7300 I was pleasantly surprised at the auto adjustment from thick carpet to wood back to thick carpet.
Overall, at $99 for a $500 vacuum this is an awesome deal on an excellent vacuum. I would have paid more for this unit but not $500. If you're looking for a great vacuum deal you can't beat this one (unless it's free.)

Powered by a 12-amp motor, the Royal Protégé provides plenty of muscle for removing even ground-in dirt from carpets or floors. The 15-inch-wide nozzle covers a greater area, shortening tedious cleaning time, while HEPA-type filtration captures 99.9% of dust and allergens, making this model a great choice for asthma sufferers. The RapidReach hose extends the user’s grasp and eases access to awkward spots such as underneath furniture or beds, while a complete suite of onboard tools further extends the Protégé’s cleaning abilities, including a crevice tool, upholstery tool, dust brush, and telescopic wand to clean ceilings, baseboards, couches, and more. The 35-foot power cord lets users clean even large single rooms without having to unplug and replug, and the rubber wheels won’t mark hardwood floors. The vacuum’s solid construction features a metal brushroll and metal plate for improved durability, and the bypass motor system means even large pieces of debris won’t burn out the motor or fan. Additional features include a full bag indicator, a brilliant headlight for illuminating dark corners and crevices, automatic height adjustment, and a sturdy metal handle with comfort grip. The Royal Protégé RY7300 weighs 24 pounds for shipping and is covered by a four-year warranty.

Pro-Team Super QuarterVac HEPA Backpack Vacuum Cleaner Review

My wife and I moved into a new two-story home 3 months ago. In our one story home we used a Kenmore brand upright which we still have and after 8 years of use it still works very well. Our dilemma is with the two story house and stairway. We went from a 2,400 sqft home to a 4,700 sqft home. Lugging the good old Kenmore up and down the stairs and covering all the nooks and crannies, including the stairway, is quite a workout. My wife and daughter rely on me to move the vac when it's time to clean.
So I sought out reviews on a backback vac, after all that's what the commercial cleaners use right. Consumer Reports only covers canisters and uprights and all other reviews covered commercial applications, so not a lot of homeowner info to go by. So what do you do? Make the plunge and hope it works.
Well after two cleanings we are VERY impressed! This think sucks and we can vacuum the house in half the time it takes with our upright. Besides carpet we have wood and tile floors plus a pet that, unfortunately, sheds. We can vacuum quicker than using a broom and dustpan. This thing is great and as quite (by vacuum standards) as our Kenmore. We have stressed wood floors, ceramic and natural stone tiled floors along with looped carpeting. I suggest getting the optional wood floor 14" attachment and the floor duster (has a cloth mitt) for wood shutters or blinds... yes it cleans them as well.
A little cumbersome at first getting this to fit on your back but once you're set tell people to get out of your way... you will be done in no time! By the way most of our neighbors use cleaning services. We're cheap and prefer to do it ourselves at our convenience. That's how we justified the cost.

I thought my old bagless vacuum was doing a great job until I had to buy a new one (thanks to my son breaking the old). OMG! I can't believe the stuff my old vacuum was missing! I only swept a small room 10x12 and the bag was half full! As I swept you would see tons of dirt bubble up next to where I was sweeping! I am so blown away by what I have been missing. I'm glad I bought this vacuum. I works wonderfully and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Sebo X5 Upright Vacuum Cleaners Review

I love this vacuum! I went into a local vacuum shop to purchase a different brand, but after testing this vacuum, I was immediately sold. This vacuum has renewed my faith that someone still cares about manufacturing quality products. Shop around; my local SEBO dealer had a much lower price than what I've seen on the internet. Here are the pros and cons:
PROS (in no specific order)
1. Effortless to use. It glides across my carpets and floors with ease.
2. Relatively quiet. I can have a conversation while using it.
3. Very low profile. Less than 5 and one-half inches tall when the handle is lowered.
4. Superior durability and reliability. These machines rarely need service.
6. Simple, compact and elegant design.
7. Bags hold lots of dust and are very easy to change.
8. Top-notch HEPA filtration system. Acts like an air filter when cleaning.
9. Very long cord (about 40 feet).
10. Powerful motor.
11. Superb cleaning power. Head automatically (and undetectably) raises and lowers to match the height of the floor surface.
12. Traps (doesn't scatter) debris when cleaning hard floors.
13. Well-written, concise user manual.
14. Belts designed to last a lifetime.
CONS
1. Stair attachment sold separately.
2. Not manufactured in the USA.

The SEBO name is viewed as the best manufacturer of upright vacuum cleaners in Europe, and is legendary for its vacuums durability. The Sebo X-series upright vacuum cleaners are an overall best pick among uprights. Lighter than most, the X vacuum series rewards with excellent suction, for thick berber, cotton, or wool carpet that has dirt embedded deep into the carpet fibers, not just surface particles, suitable for pet hair and high traffic areas. The Sebo S-Class Filtration System guarantees that dirt is picked up and filtered through a 3-layer filter bag, electrostatic microfilter, and exhaust filter inside the Sebo vacuum cleaner. Any vacuum cleaners meeting the S-Class standards are equivalent to meeting HEPA requirements to filter out 99.97% of pollens, household dust, dust mites and other allergens as small as 0.3 micrometers in size. For particles 1 micrometer and larger, the filtration rate is 100%. The X series offers one of the most consumer friendly features on the market: the upright vacuums have an electronic sensor that automatically adjusts the height of the brush roll as needed. While we recommend using the floor brush for tile, wood, and vinyl, those who like quick pick ups of dirt will appreciate the auto height adjustment. Onboard tools include crevice tool, upholstery tool and small dusting brush. Their unique slim line design means the vacuum has the ability to bend at the handle 180° parallel to the floor, allowing the operator to reach far under beds and furniture with only 5.5" of clearance needed. Color: Blue/yellow or White/gray ABS plastic. Weight: 16.9 lbs. Warranty: Manufacturer guaranteed for 3 years on non-wear parts, 5 years on motor and 1 year on labor for vacuums used in private households.

Sebo X4 Extra Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Sebo X4 Extra Upright Vacuum Cleaner

For starters consumer reports completely blew this review because they did not understand the European specs. It has an S-Class Filter that is the European equivalent to a US HEPA filter. So that was consumer reports first mistake second the pile adjustment. They listed it as not having one. It is fully automatic and mechanically senses and adjust to the proper height and pile every time. It is the best adjustment I have seen yet. The brush head is easily the best design out of all. It can be easily removed to cut hair of in less than a Minute. The Belt has a lifetime warranty to boot! It is one of the lightest uprights you will use period in addition to one of the quiets unlike an oreck which is the loudest!! These vacuum cleaners will last for years and are so simple to service. I have had my Sebo for 6 years and have pets. It does far better than the Dyson it replaced that broke belts and weight a ton. The Dyson was built far weaker...so much plastic and fittings. The seal of the systems was terrible. Is this worth the price? Considering in the 5 years prior to this unit I went thru 3 vacuum, GE, Dirt Devil and a Dyson all equaling the cost of this unit. You can find it much cheaper than here...I got mine for $575. When I bought it the guy had me try everyone he had at the store the Radiance, Miele, Dyson, and said this should be the last one you ever buy, I didnt believe it but I do now. They wheeled and deal on these so look around. It is the best one I have used yet! If I had one negative it would be the hose wand could and should be longer...oh and if you are really picky the brush head cant be switched off but I am yet to run into a problem for this is used on carpet only...which you will never shut off the brush head.
One side note. I have recently noticed these are used in all Sheraton and Hilton hotels I have stayed at. Next time you are at one that should tell you enough right there. They are more than built to take a beating!!

Electrolux EL5020A Intensity Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Electrolux EL5020A Intensity Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This little vacuum packs in power and innovative design. From the first try, I was amazed at the suction. The first time through the house I quickly filled the bag and had to change it. The Intensity pulled up all the little carpet fuzz on the 3-year-old carpet that my old vacuum could never get. It has more power than any other vacuum I've used.
The collapsing design is a nice feature. It folds up into a neat little package that fits easily on a closet floor without running into the coats. I love the controls on the top of the handle. You can go from bare floor to carpet with the touch of a button. The cord retracts nicely. The bag is easy to change, though a bit small, well, because the vacuum is small.
I discovered a nice fail-safe feature when I tried to finish the room when the full bag light was on. The vacuum shut off. I waited a bit to let it cool down, changed the bag, and it started right up. So pay attention to that light.
Overall, the design is fantastic. A couple improvements though would make it even better. For it's small size, light weight and those big wheels, it doesn't corner all that easily. The front is nice and flat and has an edge for going under cabinets, but since the front is the same width as the back, you can't go straight under cabinets. You have to go at an angle and keep adjusting the position. So making the front part a little wider than the back would make going under cabinets a breeze.
Also, if it didn't have that big carrying handle on the top of the canister, it would vacuum right under the bed. The handle isn't positioned well anyway for doing stairs, because when you hold it by the handle to maneuver on stairs, it's too back heavy and tips back. A handle placed a little farther back on the canister would solve that problem - and it would vacuum under the bed.
There are no attachments with this vacuum, but I prefer that it do it's job on the floors and I use a cordless vacuum for furniture, edging and stairs anyway.
Please don't write this vacuum off as a secondary, light-duty vacuum. Even though it's small, it's a full-duty whole house vacuum with plenty of suction.

Appropriately named "Intensity", this upright vacuum cleaner picks up dirt, dust, and debris without the need to vacuum the same spot over and over again. Its 12 amp motor and direct airpath maximizes suction power--dirt travels just 3 inches to the bag instead of through long tubes and hoses, which can slow down performance. The unit's fingertip controls allow for selecting "on/off", "carpet", or "bare floors". In carpet mode, the cleaning head adjusts automatically to different carpet heights and uses the spinning brushroll for a deep-down clean; bare-floor mode stops the brushroll to protect bare-floor surfaces. In addition, the units 12-inch-wide cleaning path with edge-cleaning brushes ensures fast results, while convenient performance indicator lights signify maximum suction, as well as when the bag or filter needs to be changed. Other highlights include an adjustable-height telescopic handle for comfortable use, a soft-touch grip, maneuverable handling for cleaning around furniture, soft wheels, HEPA filtration, and a 1-quart dust capacity for minimal bag changes, as well as a bi-fold handle and retractable 21-foot cord for compact storage that takes up less space in a closet than a laundry basket. The upright vacuum cleaner measures 17 by 12 by 14 inches when folded and carries a two-year warranty.

Sure I expected a new vacuum to clean my carpet better, but what I didn't expect was for my rug to look five years younger afterwards! My matted carpet was in pretty bad shape and I had little hope of it lasting much longer until I couldn't stand looking at it anymore. But after a good cleaning with this Sanitaire S782 I was very happy to see that my rug seemed to have new life in it and frankly looked like the rug was 5 years younger. I am simply amazed.
Dual motors allow for stopping the direct drive brush assembly going over hardwood floors while still providing lots of suction power which is also good for vacuuming the edges of scatter rugs so they don't get sucked up into the roller. And if something does get caught in the roller the motor shuts off instantly and automatically and you just have to hit the reset button after clearing.
This machine uses bags that are inexpensive and is rated at lightweight commercial use. It's fairly light at 14 pounds, and I like the folding handle making it easy to store away. The only con seems to be the high pitched motor noise which is annoying but I am already getting used to it.
After feeling like I was in a maze of new vacuum options I feel I made a really good choice without spending a fortune.

We've owned this vacuum now for 5 years. I bought it b/c I was sick of buying "new plastic" vacuums every 18 months for $200. While this vacuum is expensive, it has never required repair. If you buy it from a royal vacuum shop, you get 5 or 8 year factory warranty and the shops usually offer free cleanings every 6 months.
I drop off a full dirty vacuum and it comes back with the bristles cleaned and a fresh bag and a tune up - free!
It's all metal - so no cheapie plastic parts breaking off.
AND - it's suction and cleaning is absolutely fantastic.

I looked at a lot of other vacuums before choosing this one. It SEEMED to be built well and the design/engineering would be very handy and effective. I got it home and was amazed at how well it picked up dirt. To my disappointment however, after a week of use, it started to malfunction. First, I noticed the brush roller seemed to stop spinning on carpet. Then shortly afterward, the vacuum would shut itself off repeatedly after the first couple minutes of operation. The manual says this vacuum is designed to shut itself off when there is a blockage inside it to prevent overheating. Well I checked and rechecked for a blockage, cleaned the filter and brush roll but it still did the same thing. I contacted Electrolux customer service and they would not admit this was a common problem nor would they tell me if there was a fix for this problem but if you research reviews on other web sites, it appears to be happening quite often. Instead of going through the hassle of going to my nearest service center 40 miles away, I returned the vacuum for a refund. I really liked the vacuum at first but will not try another one. I found a Hoover Elite Windtunnel with a 6 year warranty. Don't bother with this model, you will eventually regret it. By the way, if you are looking for the quality Electrolux vacuum of the past, these are not it. These are made in China by the same company that makes Eureka. The old Electrolux was bought by a company called Aerus Lux.

Hoover U5468-900 WindTunnel Supreme Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner

When my husband and I decided to replace our 12-year old Hoover, we did hours of internet research on vacuums. Eventually, we decided to stick with a bag model, as dealing with canisters and filters sounded like too much trouble (plus, we don't have pets, so we didn't really see the need). After weighing various factors, from special features to ease of use to price, we decided to go with this Hoover Windtunnel model.
We got a great price using Amazon's discount offer, and the vacuum shipped very quickly despite our choice of Super Saver shipping. The unit required only simple assembly, although I should note that our package was missing a required bolt, so we had to contact Hoover for a replacement and wait another week or so before we were able to complete assembly and use the vacuum. Finally, we had the opportunity to try our new product. The first thing we noticed was the sound, as this vacuum, while still loud, is noticeably quieter than our old Hoover. Second, the cord is significantly longer (about 30 feet), which is very convenient for maneuvering around our home. My husband also appreciated the convenience of the headlight, although to be fair, most newer models include this feature.
As far as cleaning ability goes, this vacuum does a good job. It doesn't necessarily out-perform our old vacuum, but it does seem to stir up less dust. Also, the larger vacuum head speeds up the chore time a bit (although it also makes it harder to fit in tight places). The dirt indicator light did seem to be consistent with areas that required a bit more attention, which was nice. Another feature of this vacuum is the build-in handle at the unit's base for cleaning stairs; this was a nice idea, but my husband (who does the majority of the vacuuming in our house--lucky me!) found it to be a bit cumbersome and uncomfortable to use.
Overall, we are happy with our choice of this vacuum, a solid performer that can be purchased via Amazon at a very reasonable price. If you are living in a home with no pets and looking for a good basic vacuum, this would be an excellent choice.
UPDATE JULY 2008: Unfortunately, I need to downgrade my review of this vacuum, as its performance has deteriorated over time, and we are currently in the market to purchase a new one. My husband, who is the main user of the vacuum, compiled the following list of complaints:
1. The on/off switch ceased working shortly after the one-year warranty period expired. Currently, the vacuum can only be turned on or off by plugging and unplugging the unit from an electrical outlet.
2. The height adjuster failed, also shortly after the one-year warranty period expired; the vacuum now leaves an odd-looking wave pattern on the carpet unless it is used at the highest setting (which is the least effective).
3. The natural forward momentum of the vacuum stopped after only a few months of use, making the unit more difficult to push.
4. The dirt indicator light seems arbitrary and thus virtually useless.
5. The vacuum is awkward to use on stairs: the place to grab is not a handle--rather, it is just an indentation in the plastic, which becomes painful to hold after only a few seconds.
6. The cord does not remain attached to the clamps on vacuum during use: when the cord is fully extended, it pulls loose of the clamps, causing it to constantly get underfoot.
7. The vacuum's motor "revs" loudly at random times and for no apparent reason.
8. The dirt bags are difficult both to attach and to remove.
9. The vacuum does not perform well on hard floors: it blows dirt around, necessitating several passes.
10. The vacuum feels heavy and has a wide head, making cleaning in tight spaces difficult.

NICE Kirby Sentria Upright Vacuum LOADED W 5yr Warranty Review

NICE Kirby Sentria Upright Vacuum LOADED W 5yr Warranty
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My 82 year old parents bought a Kirby Sentria from two door-to-door salesmen (Jeremy & Tyson). If I'd had ANY idea they were considering this, I would have told them to STOP & kick them out. The sales techniques are high-pressure -- I had a Kirby experience years ago & after FOUR + hours of saying, "No, I'm not interested. No, I can't afford it. Etc" I finally said, "You pack up & leave my home or I'm calling the police to remove you!" That was the ONLY way I could get rid of him! That is their sales technique. Pressure & arm-twisting. If you have elderly parents, I highly recommend spending a dollar & putting a "No Soliciting" on the door.
As for the product, I've been watching their home while they are on vacation & my sister & I wanted to do some cleaning before they get home. I had been making a flannel blanket & this heavy piece of junk won't even pick up the lint!! It SUCKS but NOT in the positive way that a vacuum should. Frustrating! It simply does not do the simplest cleaning of the carpet in a satisfactory manner. Then there are the issues of attachments -- you have to take the thing apart in order to attach the hose for dusting. I am very savvy with technology & machines & this thing had me angry & frustrated beyond description. I can only imagine the frustration my parents will experience when they start to use this. My under $200 Dirt Devil is FAR superior to this product & significantly more user-friendly.
I called Jeremy & spoke with him at length & he said, "We don't get complaints." Yeah, right ... well, I will be contacting Utah's Attorney General & I will also be contacting the community in which it was sold to see whether or not solicitors are required to have a permit. If they did not have a permit to solicit & it is required ... I'm going after them.
They paid nearly $1000 for this cumbersome, useless vacuum -- what a rip-off! I don't know how people can sleep at night when they are ripping off the elderly.
What would make me happy? If they would come & take this back & give my parents their money back. I will also being contacting the credit card company to see if there is any recourse via that avenue.
Three days is in no way long enough to check this out. Even with lots of cars you get 60 days to determine whether or not it's a good fit.

Bissell 20Q9 CleanView II Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum Review

Bissell 20Q9 CleanView II Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Bissell 35766 CleanView II is a great vacuum. It did what was advertised. I based my decision to buy this from the reviews on amazon.com
I bought this vacuum for my apartment in NYC with two other roommates. I have wood floors throughout the apartment. And I found that this vacuum is a little too much for this. I learned that this type vacuum is great for carpets and rugs. It still did its job well on bare floors. All the components worked well, and the attachments are pretty useful.
MAINTENANCE:
You have to clean this vacuum regularly. There are about 5 parts that needs to be cleaned thoroughly. These are the plastic reusable filters separates the dust from the larger chunks crumbs that the vacuum might pick up. In order for the vacuum to operate properly these filters have to be cleaned by washing it in soapy water, scrubbed, and dried. If poor maintenance clogs the filters it WILL damage the motor.
In a roommate environment, in our apartment this proved to be a problem. Because lets face it, who likes to clean? We have a cleaning schedule to keep all the roommates do their part in cleaning. But the problem arose to who cleans the vacuum, and the vacuum was never maintained and eventually overheated the motor and broke.CONCLUSION
This is a great vacuum and I recommend it to those who have carpeted apartments. For those of us with wood floors or in a roommate situation, this is not the best vacuum to have. In fact it's best to avoid bag-less vacuums. Just go for the more traditional bag vacuum, you can all (roommates) split the cost for the bags.
I went to a local authorized repair center and learned about how bag less vacuums work and the lifespan of the affordable vacuums such as this one have.
What I learned, low-end vacuums, such as this one have about a two or more years worth of use, if maintained properly before they break. It has to do with the quality of motor that they use on these things.
I also learned about the advantages and disadvantages of bag-less vacuums. The advantages are obvious--no bags to buy to use the vacuum, and less waste--it's a bit more ecological to have a bag-less vacuum. The disadvantages are the maintenance. The vacuum needs regular thorough cleaning of its own.

Bissell 3594 Cleanview PowerTrak Deluxe Bagless Upright Vacuum Review

Bissell 3594 Cleanview PowerTrak Deluxe Bagless Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let me preface this by saying I've given a great review to my Fantom vacuum (which just died by the way) and must say, this vacuum is flat out great.
One sweep over carpet in our room and even I was amazed at what this thing pulled out! The bin was full after cleaning just one small room and the carpet definitely looked like it had been cleaned. I'm saying this after looking at our 4 year old builder grade carpet that is pretty matted down. Yet, the Bissell was able to pull up the fibers and make the carpet look really, really nice.
I agree with the attachments, they should be easier to get to. Another feature that would be nice would be a bigger collection bin. It's not much bigger than a sauce pot so be ready to do a lot of dumping if you vacuum large areas.
All in all, we got this vacuum for under $90 and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Filtrete Dirt Devil 12 Belt, 2 Belts Per Pack Review

Filtrete Dirt Devil 12 Belt, 2 Belts Per Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I think this belt is a little too small. It is pulling the brush onto the plastic fixtures of the vacuum to the point that when I ran the vacuum for 90 seconds, part of the brush was melted away from rubbing against the guides. Hard to explain, but I know I'm never buying another belt unless it's made by the vacuum manufacturer--certainly never this kind.

Bissell Rewind SmartClean Bagless Upright Vacuum, 58F8 Review

Bissell Rewind SmartClean Bagless Upright Vacuum, 58F8
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As I stated above this model is an updated version of the Bissell Cleanview Deluxe. I had that vacuum and was sad to give it up in an out of state move. Since my move (I couldn't find another Cleanview to purchsae at that time) I bought a cheap Dirt Devil Extreme Quick vac to get by (with a HEPA filter) and it served me well but would fill up too quickly and lose suction with cat fur and a lot of long human hair. I had been looking to find an updated version of the Cleanview and *poof* recently the SmartClean appeared on amazon before I found it anywhere else. I purchased it without hesitation.
I couldn't wait to get this out of the box and try it out. So far I like it a lot. Felt a bit more bulky than the Cleanview I had, but has the familiar handling. This Bissell added a few features, the retractable cord winder is nice, but I find that it retracts slightly while I vacuum which is a pretty minor annoyance. Suction is great and the included attachments are nice--same as the old Cleanview (powerprush, crevice tool, extender, and upholstery tool. There is a bit more air filtering than the Cleanview but has the same Dirt sensor "red light green light" which makes vacuuming more fun/productive. I simply couldn't believe the dust/pet dander that this vacuum picked up the first time I used it that the Dirt Devil had been missing. HEPA filter is great and necessary for my allergies. For the price range this vacuum is a great purchase, I hope to keep it for a while.

The unique SmartClean System was created with you in mind. The Clean Carpet Sensor helps to detect the areas in your carpet that need some extra attention; the red light will stay on for you until the area is clean and you'll know you're finished when the green light stays on. Also, the Clean Filter Indicator takes the guess work out of when to clean or change your filters. When you're done with your vacuuming, just press the automatic cord rewind button and stow it away- no more taking the time to rewind it yourself. The convenient clear bagless container allows for easy emptying. The Rewind SmartClean also includes a long reach hose, a TurboBrush Tool, extension wand, crevice tool and combination dusting/upholstery brush. It's no wonder that this is the smart choice in cleaning.
