(More customer reviews)My veterinarian recommended Get Serious about a year ago, and I have never been so pleased with a pet stain remover. The product is safe and very effective; it normally gets stains of all varieties out the first time (although bile-colored cat vomit on white carpet may take two passes), and has not harmed any of the materials that I have seen it used on.
I have tried almost every pet stain remover on the market and this is by far the best I have ever used. As for odor removal, it seems effective (I certainly can't smell any remnants of the offending material after treatment), but remember that cats and dogs can smell much better than we can, so I hesitate to claim that all traces of odors are removed. What I can say is that after treatment all stains and humanly detectable odors are gone, and I have predominantly white carpet in the house, which provides a tough testing ground.
This product is not the cheapest on the market, but I recommend it highly for versatility and effectiveness: as far as I'm concerned it is unsurpassed.

In the past, I was never able to totally remove a stain like that. One day I found it on my bedroom carpet. I sprayed it with Nil-Odor and walked away to let it work. When I came back, I couldn't find where it had been! I had not even blotted the area; it was just gone. I never let myself run out of this stuff and it has a wonderful minty smell to it. I had used my Bissell along with Nature's Miracle Orange Oxy and it would get clean but it just did not get that fresh smell that I wanted. I would go over my couches and love seat with Fabreeze as well but it just was not working. This product smells great and the lingering smell in my living room immediately was immediately gone.
One of my cats is sensitive to smells and did not have a reaction with this product either. I am very satisfied with this product and would buy it as a replacement to the Orange Oxy and the Fabreeze. I think I am going to go through the house and flip my mattresses and spray those down too and wiped down my walls with it.

(More customer reviews)Of course, this is the kind of product you're slightly embarassed to admit you need, but if you have cat(s) you inevitably will.
This product does take care of odor and works really well on carpets. Contrary to the manufacturer's claim, it will not reverse cat pee damage to fabric and wood (the bleach and dye effect), but we all knew that was too good to be true, didn't we?
We've found that if you saturate the area, let it dry for a LONG time--like several days--treat it again, and then clean the carpet, it does remove the (ahem) evidence. In our house it seems to remove all of it, but we're not unusually sensitive. I suppose if you're really nose-conscious, you wouldn't have cats in the first place.
I recommend buying it in gallons, because it takes a lot of product to treat an area. I also recommend buying a small pump sprayer (ACE Hardware, about seven dollars), because a spray bottle neither covers evenly, nor holds enough.
I wish I could train the cats to do it themselves.

I used a black light to locate the urine stains,treated them with the product, put plastic over the saturated carpet for 12 hours to allow the product to absorb and activate, allowed the carpet to dry and retreated it. The smell initially worsened which I read online is normal, it is an indication that the product should be working, well it has been 4 weeks since I have completed the treatment and the smell is still lingering.

Well, here I am five months later and, low and behold, the little stinker strikes! So let me get to the point here. Nature's Miracle does work. However, it works at its best when used in the following manner. When your little pet strikes, take a few paper towels and GENTLY soak up as much of the pee as you can. Repeat this process with many paper towels until you have soaked up as much as you can. DO NOT RUB, DO NOT ADD WATER! Now get yourself a measuring cup, and here is why you buy the gallon sized. Pour between 6-8 ounces of the product over the spot. This is about how much pee comes out of a little dog, so you want to match that. Let the product soak in the spot and dry as long as it needs. Do not simply spray the spot, because, trust me, the pee HAS gone down to the pad, and a little spray will not do the job. Now, after the spot has dried, you may want to apply to spray, just for a little extra treatment. I had a 24 ounce spray bottle that I refilled with the gallon, but it left me with plenty to treat the problem initially the way I had described.

Then, about a year ago, someone told me about X-O. I gave it a try on a couch that a feral cat had peed on...IT WORKED and saved the couch!!! So, I began using it on all the pet accidents. It removes all the odor. I use the X-O plus cleaner, and it's amazingly effective at cleaning up the poop from the carpet. I always have this on hand, and was very happy to find it at Amazon for less than I was paying the local distributor. This is a wonderful product.

We've been battling our basement since we moved into our new (rental) home almost two months ago. It's extremely rare to have a basement in Phoenix, AZ. Apparently neighborhood cats and mice found it novel as well and decided to use it as a toilet since the previous owner/occupants left the outside cellar door wide open the majority of the time. The stench and dampness (it's pretty wet here right now and we're in a very low part of the city) was pretty overwhelming. To top it off about 1/3 of the basement is dirt (dirt floor), allowing the damp dirt smell to just hang in the air down there before filtering up right into my beloved closet. We were skeptical of this product but in desperation we threw down the money for two bags of it to help control the odor in the basement (approx. 700 sq ft).
The product:
I hung two bags of this stuff from the beams in the basement, and within a couple of hours noticed a massive decrease in the odor which no amount of cleaning, vacuuming, and sprays had eliminated in the weeks before. Within three weeks I decided that it was "good enough" down there to move one of the bags to my closet area. With the dirt floor I realize the odor may never be completely gone in the basement, but it had stopped filtering upstairs, which was really my main concern. Anyway, within a few hours of putting the bag in my closet the smell in my closet that was coming from the basement (and some sweaty gym shoes, I admit) was GONE. I'm leaving one in the basement and one in the upper floor of the house to continue to act as odor control/dehumidifiers. They seem easy enough to "clean" too and I don't know that it needs to be done often (I've had these for 6 weeks and not had to do it yet). Apparently one just tosses them out in the sun for a day. Sun is not generally a hard to come by in Phoenix, but I don't know how well this cleaning process would work elsewhere in the winter months.
The only con:
Packaging was a little though to open and I accidentally ripped of the silver hanging ring on one bag as I tore off the plastic packaging.
Take home message:
This has really been an excellent product for us and we're very pleased! I don't know how well something like this would work for odors that keep coming (like if the cats and mice continued to use the basement as a toilet) but to rid a space of a funky odor, it worked like a charm for us and I don't know that we'll ever take these down other than to "clean" them a few time a year.

It will neutralize the animal odors in those corners your male cat focuses on. It also removes the major stains you have on carpet. Just spray it on, rub it in gently (for those bad stains) and then it's clean. Or you may have to do it twice if needed. It's just amazing that it cleans up dark stains on light carpet like I have. One thing I have to say is WASH YOUR HANDS afterwards or the enzymes start going after your fingers from rubbing it in the carpet. Although my daughter said she doesn't have that problem. But really, it's great stuff and I think it's what you've been looking for.
