In the past, I was never able to totally remove a stain like that. One day I found it on my bedroom carpet. I sprayed it with Nil-Odor and walked away to let it work. When I came back, I couldn't find where it had been! I had not even blotted the area; it was just gone. I never let myself run out of this stuff and it has a wonderful minty smell to it. In fact, I add it to the water in my carpet cleaner and the whole house smells fresh.

I tried several treatments of this product on that spot, and even resorted to dumping the whole gallon into the corner. The only thing that happened was my whole apartment smelled like minty cat pee. I don't know if this product might be more useful in smaller accidents, but it certainly did nothing for my problem. I found that using vinegar followed by A LOT of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and a few drops of dish soap does a fantastic job. This still took a few treatments and a week worth of re-soaking the carpet, but every time I did it I could tell the smell was lessening. The smell is finally gone after all of that work - it is easy to find others online who had the same success with cheap household products. You don't have to waste your money!

I've tried all the odor removers out there (the enzymes, cleaners, professional carpet cleaners, diatomaceous earth, powders, granules, everything at pet stores). Then, about a year ago, someone told me about X-O. I gave it a try on a couch that a feral cat had peed on...IT WORKED and saved the couch!!! So, I began using it on all the pet accidents. It removes all the odor. I use the X-O plus cleaner, and it's amazingly effective at cleaning up the poop from the carpet. I always have this on hand, and was very happy to find it at Amazon for less than I was paying the local distributor. This is a wonderful product.

Worked perfectly to remove the stench (with some soap and water as well - hosed the cushions down outside), after I had tried a bunch of other useless pet stain/smell removers. Useful to remove dog urine as well. Has a pleasant, not overpowering or 'chemical' smell. Does not smell like typical pet stain removers. I use it as a room freshener and in the trash bin to remove odors. Smells better than Febreze.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product at a chain pet food company, not expecting any better results than I'd gotten from other products of this type. Our carpet is olefin, and not supposed to stain. This spray not only smells great and removes odor, but it removed two year old stains from vomit after a pet's battle with cancer. It even worked through the multitude of solutions I had tried on the same places in the carpet, even after Stanley Steemer tried twice. The loss of the pet was horrific and the stains were a constant reminder. I cannot say how it would work on nylon carpet, but I do highly recommend trying it.

My only issue is that I ordered it with expedited delivery to tackle a stinky dog who got sprayed or rolled in something. But it took a week for the Orange Stuff to show up - and by then, the stink was very much a part of this dog. Company did refund my shipping fee - hopefully this is a onetime error.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought and used this cleaner and was really impressed with how well it did. It's a concentrate, so once it's diluted, the price is very inexpensive. I was surprised at how many different jobs it did around the house! I was planning on just cleaning the sinks and ended up unclogging drains, cleaning the toilets and mirrors. It can also be used in carpet cleaners, so I'm planning on trying that next. I also read that it fixes squeaky hinges. I like that it's an organic product but at the same time gets the job done well. So many organic products I've tried in the past did not work as well as the regular cleaners. Plus, this cleaner has such a nice, light scent that I don't have to air out the room when I'm done. All in all, I was very impressed and ordered two more bottles!

First we toweled the spot and cleaned it with Woolite, but even after scrubbing the area and letting it dry several times over the course of two days, the odor was still pretty bad. We headed to the pet supply store to find something stronger, and picked this. Admittedly, a big factor in our choice was that we didn't know much about any of the products, and this cost less than most of the other power products (most of which contained enzymes to "eat" the foul odors). The other big factor was that this didn't have any perfumes or fragrances added, as these are a problem for a member of our household.
We were amazed at how well this worked. Following the directions, we sprinkled the white Odorzout powder over the problem area, and left it overnight. It said it would work better with a fan running on it, but we tried it without the extra electricity use first. The next morning, we vacuumed up the powder. Hooray--the smell was gone!
Since then, we've used it once more when the same problem happened, and it worked just as well. This second time we didn't use Woolite or anything else first. We just toweled the area, let it finish drying for a bit, and then used the Odorzout. The next morning, one member of our household who is *extremely* sensitive to smells could still detect some urine scent, although the rest of us couldn't smell anything. We used the Odorzout a second time on the same area, and then everyone agreed the smell was completely gone.My only concern was whether the area was really "clean" after being sprinkled and vacuumed, without also shampooing the carpet with anything. According to the package, the Odorzout "attracts and traps the gas and bacteria molecules that cause odor, even in flooring under carpet. When you vacuum it up, odors are gone for good." From what I can tell, that appears to be true. I'll still keep shampooing my carpets twice a year anyway, though!
So, I'm giving it five stars because it does exactly what it says it will do, very well. I wish it worked instantly, but at least this fixes the problem overnight.

(More customer reviews)I tried this product because I have 2 cats... one of which is picky about her litter box and urinates on the carpet. The bottle states it works on "the toughest" odors and stains, but I beg to differ. Here is what I found:
PROS:
- has a pleasant smell
- covers/eliminates most pet/dander smells
- easy to apply
- inexpensive
CONS:
- leaves residue in carpet
- spray bottle does not penetrate carpet very deep
- tougher smells return after the carpet dries
- will not eliminate urine smells
I have darker carpet so the "stains" aspect is hard to review. While the product does work at first, after a few hours you will notice the smells returning. If you are thinking of purchasing this for urine smells, I suggest looking elsewhere. Otherwise, it isn't a bad product.

(More customer reviews)I definitely noticed the difference each time I added this treatment, so much so that I'm adding this review here even though I bought this stuff at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Earlier this year I acquired a mid-century modern Rya rug, a natural wool shag that has spent most of its life in storage and thus had taken on a distinct musty smell. This is the only carpet on otherwise hardwood floors so it's clear where the odor was coming from. When I had a pregnant friend over and she politely but firmly insisted I keep the window open on a cool day I knew I had to do something about the slightly vomity stale smell, which I would notice upon entering the place and then forget about and less sensitive noses would not apparently pick up on (or were attached to mouths too polite to say). I started with the crystals and opening the window each day, which didn't do much.
The first shake treatment not only reduced the mustiness 40%, the rug felt much nicer and fuller after treatment. The container was enough for three or four treatments (it's a big area rug - 8 x 12) and before this last treatment I had it down to about 10% of the previous odor - I believe I have just delivered the knockout punch.
Bonus - my kids are super picky about scents (they hate them) and did not complain even while I was doing the treatment. It's a nice fresh scent, natural.
So here is a rug that a reputable chem dry outfit had said they couldn't help restore (they gave it a cursory cleaning and left without charging me) that is now nearly as good as new, and certainly as good as it gets for a rug from the 1960's.

(More customer reviews)This is the best odor remover I've ever used. It not only gets rid of pet odors, but it will also get rid of just about any other thing that stinks. I even works on mothball smells. It has just a hint of smell at first (called a tracer scent) so that you can tell where you've spread it, but then when it dries, all smells are gone including the tracer. I have trouble with a lot of other odor removers that they give me a migraine. Febreeze will like to kill me. But I've never had a problem with this one. I will never buy anything else.

It completely removes the smell and gets the stain out of any fabric or upholstery. I've given bottles of it to my family and friends and it gets out just about anything. The only thing I've found that it doesn't work on is toner from a printer cartridge, but nothing works on that. I'd recommend it to everyone because it works and is safe and non-toxic, which anyone with a pet or small child can really appreciate. ******** It's over a year since I posted this and I still haven't found anything that even comes close. I've used it on everything and all types of fabric. There's never been a problem with color fastness or completely removing the odor/stain. I've actually started pouring in a capful on almost every wash cycle I do. Makes sure that everything comes out smelling great and stain free. I'm still telling everyone I know about it.
